Organization Structure: Before & After

Why an associate pastor and not a lead pastor?

  • Unity = ONE GMC.

  • Work closely with the existing leadership team to understand and uphold the established vision, values, and goals of the church.

  • Ensures continuity and stability in the church's leadership. Avoid potential conflict in vision and direction. Avoid split.

  • Existing ministries can continue with minimal changes.

Why do we need an associate pastor if Pastor James will be preaching for us?

  • Pastor James’ reach is limited- his focus is on preaching.

  • Associate pastor provides Pastoral Care.

    • Address the spiritual and emotional needs of the congregation.

    • Care for the needs of the congregation on a more personal and individual level.

  • Availability & Accessibility

    • More time to meet with individuals, listen to their concerns, and provide guidance as needed.

    • Visit members who are sick or in need, offer counseling and emotional support, and provide guidance in times of crisis or difficulty.

  • Relationship & Community Building

    • Focus on building relationships within the congregation.

    • Connect with new visitors and help integrate them into the church community.

    • Disciple members on a more personal and individual level.

EM Associate Pastor Search Progress

  • Application for associate pastor position has been posted on various websites and our own website.

  • The application includes a detailed description of the role, requirements, and expectations.

  • Work collaboratively with KM leaders – Elders & lay leaders

Cell Groups

  • GMC is committed to building a genuine spiritual family through cell groups. Our church gathers in cell groups to worship, rejoice and mourn together. The bonds of fellowship are strengthened as we build a true spiritual family in Christ.

  • We are currently in the process of reshuffling cell groups and introducing new leaders so stay tuned.

  • Please join a cell group and get plugged in.

  • We strongly encourage everyone, even those already in a cell group, to complete the online form. This will help us ensure that the reshuffling aligns with your preferences.

Why serve? Why get plugged in?

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45

"True Christian service is the natural outflow of a heart transformed by God's love and a mind renewed by His truth.” – JJ Packer

"The world measures success by how much you gain, but God measures success by how much you give in service to Him and others.” – John MacArthur

“A common vision can unite people of very different temperaments.”   – Tim Keller
